Zurich region living the good life

The city of Zurich and nine other towns in the region have come first in a national quality-of-life survey.

The rankings were based on factors including job opportunities, taxes, social structure, as well as recreational opportunities and public transport.

The list comprises the 128 cities and towns in Switzerland with more than 10,000 residents.

Geneva and Lausanne, the two largest cities in French-speaking western Switzerland were in the top 30, while the capital, Bern and Basel in the north of the country finished in positions 35 and 44 respectively.

The survey was commissioned by the Bilanz business magazine.
