‘My English is poor to non-existent’

In November 2012, Switzerland’s largest retailing company Migros ran an article in its magazine looking at whether Swiss cinema-goers preferred original versions or dubbed versions of films.

The journalist asked several young people in a Zurich cinema who had come to watch The Avengers, which was being shown in both versions. The Avengers is a special effects-heavy blockbuster, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team, but it also has rapid, witty dialogue.
