The Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich -- a museum for design and contemporary art -- is staging an exhibition featuring the works of sculptor and toy designer Antonio Vitali.

Organisers show Vitali's toys along with other exhibits from the museum's
poster collection, the graphic collection and the design collection.

"What is exemplified is the interest in collecting and the preoccupation of a public institution to examine the socio-historical background of the objects transcending their aesthetic and mediating qualities," said the organisers in explaining the concept of the exhibition.

The main idea is to show that toys, which are an integral part of many people's lives, also belong to the world of artistic design.
