Vega transferred from the English club Tottenham for an undisclosed sum. Tottenham themselves bought the player from Italy's Cagliari in 1997 for the equivalent of SFr9 million.

Having passed a medical, the 29 year-old is expected to play his first game for the Scottish league leaders on Saturday, versus Aberdeen.
