The unbeaten Swiss team finished top of their group, which also included Denmark and Iceland. Belarus came second, after Denmark unexpectedly lost to Iceland in their final match.

The first two goals on Saturday came from Admir Mehmedi in the first half, and the other from Frank Feltscher.

The semifinals will be played on Wednesday. Their opponents will be the Czech Republic, who beat England on Sunday.

The performance in Denmark is the best result for a Swiss U21 since 2002.
