Tour de Suisse produces youngest champion

Roman Kreuziger of the Czech Republic has won the Tour de Suisse cycling race which ended in Bern on Sunday.

Swiss rider Fabian Cancellara won the final stage.

Kreuziger is not only the first Czech ever to win the Tour de Suisse; at the age of 22 years and one month he is also the youngest ever winner.

He beat Andreas Klöden of Germany by 49 seconds.

Cancellara's success on Sunday was second stage had won in this year's race. He covered the 168 km from Altdorf on Lake Lucerne to the Swiss capital in a time of 4 hours 01:07.

The best-placed Swiss overall was Michael Albasini, who came twelfth.

Despite his stage successes, Cancellara came 83rd overall.
