A new Federer is on the way
Roger Federer’s wife is expecting the couple’s third child in 2014, the Swiss tennis star has announced. He also added Stefan Edberg to his professional staff.
“Mirka and I are very happy to share the news that Myla & Charlene will be big sisters in 2014,” he announced on twitter in English.
He gave no further details.
The twins Myla and Charlene were born in July 2009.
Federer and his wife, herself a former professional tennis player, met at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. They married in April 2009.
Childhood hero
Meanwhile, Federer has announced he's adding Stefan Edberg - former world number one tennis player from Sweden - to his team.
Federer, owner of a record 17 Grand Slam titles, said that six-time major champion Edberg, his "childhood hero", agreed to join his team for at least ten weeks starting at the Australian Open next month.
However, Severin Lüthi will continue to work with Federer as head coach.
