The Swiss team gained promotion to the elite World Group last weekend after a one-year absence.

The match in the US could feature the world's number one ranked doubles pair, the Bryan twins, against Roger Federer/Stanislas Wawrinka, who won gold in the doubles event at the Beijing Olympics.

Federer – five times US Open champion - said his participation in the Swiss Davis Cup team depended on his personal schedule.

In another tie, the 2008 finalists Spain will host Serbia in the opening round, following the draw in Madrid on Tuesday.

A total of 125 countries have entered the top international event in men's tennis for next year.
