Swiss national exhibition learns lessons from Expo 2000
The steering committee of Switzerland's national exhibition, Expo.02, says it has learnt useful lessons from Expo 2000 in Hannover, Germany.
The Expo.02 directors said they had been monitoring the Hannover expo, and believed that the Swiss project was heading in the right direction.
The artistic director, Martin Heller, said he and his colleagues had picked up plenty of tips from the international fair, but stressed that they "do not want to be pretentious and strive to do everything better [than Expo 2000]".
He added that they could not guarantee that Expo.02 would be a success, but their observation of the German fair was a step in the right direction.
Expo.02 hopes not to repeat the mistakes of Expo 2000. For example, the committee says the prices of pre-booked tickets will be more attractive.
As for transport, the Swiss exhibition's artistic director, Rainer Müller, said Expo.02 is hoping to have a system that "adapts itself to the needs of the visitors".
