Originally scheduled for this weekend, the second of the two Olympic qualifying events will now be held on the weekend of January 5-6.

The race for Salt Lake City began last weekend in Laax, with reigning Olympic champion Gian Simmen making sure of his place in the freestyle category. Gilles Jaquet and Nagano bronze medallist Ueli Kestenholz also booked spots on the Swiss alpine team.

Therry Brunner and Fabienne Reuteler also did enough in Laax to virtually assure themselves of Olympic places.
