Uefa confirmed on Friday that the Swiss club hearing will take place before its appeals committee next Tuesday, two days before this season's group stage starts.

Sion were thrown out of the Europa League last week after Uefa ruled they had fielded ineligible players in a playoff against Glasgow Celtic, who took their place.

On Thursday Sion's attempt to appeal against their expulsion at a local court in Martigny was rejected as the court ruled the case was outside its jurisdiction.

The club’s expulsion came following a protest by Celtic that Sion had selected five players signed in the offseason, in breach of Fifa transfer rules, in last month’s playoff round matches.
