Late Romantic. The Bienne Symphony Orchestra marks its 40th birthday with Schindler's List. A disc which comprises John William's film score masterpiece, written for Spielberg's movie of the same name, along with two other works by Swiss composer Ernest Bloch. The violin soloist on Schindler's List and the Suite Hébraïque is the young Canadian Alexandre da Costa. The Bienne Symphony Orchestra is led by its chief conductor Thomas Rösner. This recording is rounded up by Bloch's Concerto Grosso no. 1 for String orchestra with Piano Obligato. Swiss pianist Marc Pantillon is the soloist on this interpretation.
