Schelbert qualifies for Sydney

Sprinters find their legs Keystone

Switzerland's Marcel Schelbert has qualified for the Sydney Olympics with a time of 49'49" in the 400 metres hurdles at the prestigious Weltklasse meeting in Zurich.

It was almost a second faster than his best performance so far this season.

Schelbert only had to meet the Olympic limit of 49'60" once because of his standing in the world rankings.

In other results, America's Marion Jones won the women's 100 metres in a time of 10'95".

Jones's compatriot, Inger Miller, finished second in 10'96" with Jamaica's Merlene Ottey in third place.
