Watch: storytelling around the world

Journalists from 60 countries recently convened in the Swiss capital Bern to discuss what it's like to tell stories in their homelands.

It was all part of the "Reportagen FestivalExternal link": more than 50 events giving insight into issues that move people around the world, through the eyes of the journalists who report on them. 

We live-streamed two events at the festival: first, a panel on "Unfree Press",External link with journalists from Jordan, Russia and China discussing what it's like to work in places where press freedom is restricted:

Second, we featured journalists who are working or have worked in Taiwan and Hong Kong on a panel about covering democracy issues External linkin those places:

The festival included the first-ever "True Story Award," an honour given to one of these 39 nominated pieces of journalismExternal linkThese were the winners. was a media partner for the Reportagen Festival.
