American expat William Olenick from Zermatt is seeking a less centralised government in the US, which is why he's throwing his support behind Mitt Romney.

"I’d like to see us go back to less centralised government. The Obama administration has wrested lots of power that rested in the states and towns – they are making a huge power grab to expand their power base. I’m against that."

"I’d like to see the community deal with affairs in the community. What does the guy in Washington know about the farmer up in Vermont? Nothing."
 
"Romney is an honest, hardworking family man. A good American. He’s worked hard and built companies and created jobs and taken sick companies and made them strong."
 
"As governor of Massachusetts he passed legislation in one of the most Democrat states in the US. He was able to work across the aisle. So-called Romney-care was not perfect solution but he got it done and you could always tweak it afterwards to get it done."

However, Olenick's hopes of Republicans "taking back Vermont" seem to have been dashed, as CNN just called Vermont for Barack Obama.
