Gotthard tunnel sparks freight traffic row

The last sleepers have been laid in the Gotthard base tunnel. It will take another two years for train services to begin. But freight forwarders fear they won't have proper access. (SRF/swissinfo.ch)

Before the tunnel is operational, overhead power lines have to be installed and various inspections carried out before the tunnel can be used. In the meantime, freight operators concerned they will be squeezed out in favour of passenger traffic.
