Miller beats two Swiss for Lauberhorn top spot
Switzerland’s Carlo Janka and Silvan Zurbriggen have finished behind Bode Miller of the United States in a World Cup super-combined event in Wengen.
Miller’s win on the legendary Swiss course on Friday was his first since March 2008.
Janka, who won the Lauberhorn super-combi last year, and Zurbriggen were 0.37 and 0.42 seconds off the pace respectively.
Miller’s 32nd career World Cup victory suggests his form is better than expected one month before the Vancouver Olympics. He missed much of the offseason while he considered retiring and had to skip recent races to rest an injured right ankle.
Among other Swiss skiers, Didier Défago was ninth and Beat Feuz placed 12th.
