Metzler will join ministers from the 41 Council states, as well as a number of non-member states, to discuss ways of tackling the common problems that face many European countries. Prominent among these is the issue of "e-justice".

This covers the modernisation of courts through increased use of the latest technology as well as the evolution of legal proceedings in the era of the Internet.

Other issues on the agenda include ways of combating the delays in court procedures without prejudicing the interests of justice. The ministers will also discuss ways of delivering legal advice in order to improve access to the courts or to alternative systems of settling disputes.
