Lucerne complete new striker line-up
Lucerne football club will head into the relegation play-offs with two new strikers in their squad.
After signing former Swiss international Nestor Subiat on Monday, the club have now agreed a swap deal with Servette Geneva. Servette's Alexandre Rey is to join the side from central Switzerland with Swiss under-21 Alex Frei moving in the opposite direction.
While Lucerne will be hoping that Subiat and Frei can revive their fortunes on the pitch, the two new arrivals should also help the cash-strapped club with their current financial woes.
The deal with Servette is reported to have earned Lucerne a net profit of around one million francs. Subiat, meanwhile, came to the club as a free agent after leaving second division side Etoile Carouge last week.
The 34-year-old Subiat picked up 15 caps for Switzerland, and played club football with Grasshoppers Zurich, Lugano and St Etienne. Rey has represented Switzerland 14 times so far and played for Sion and Basel before joining Servette.
