Krueger gets new right-hand man
Ralph Krueger, Switzerland's national hockey coach, has a new assistant - former Berlin Eisbären coach, Canadian Peter Lee.
Krueger on Thursday described Lee as a dream assistant.
"I played with him in Düsseldorf and we did our coach training in Canada together," said the former professional player.
Lee replaces Swede, Bengt-Ake Gustafsson, who announced his decision to resign from the Swiss team, citing family reasons, after the 2002 world titles earlier this year.
Lee played professional hockey in Canada and Germany, primarily for Düsseldorf, Wolfsburg and Berlin, winning four German national titles.
His coaching career includes stints for the Ottawa 67's and the EHC Eisbären in Berlin.
Krueger said Lee was a strong character, with an open and fair-minded attitude.
