Since spring 2002, Switzerland possesses an encyclopedia of folk music comprising some ten tousand melodies. We owe this massive cultural treasure trove to the Basle folklorist Hanny Christen (1899-1976). On the present CD, the three ensembles o the 'Hujgroup' together with their guests, devote themselves solely to unusual arrangements of music from the Hanny Christen Collection.
