Hitzfeld "not bothered" by Swiss form

Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld says he is not concerned about his team's poor results and lacklustre form in the build-up to the World Cup.

On Thursday Hitzfeld launched a defence of his team, which has lost three straight friendly matches at home since qualifying for the South Africa in October.

Switzerland's 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica on Tuesday means the team's only goal in that losing streak has come from a penalty, while no forward has scored in five matches.

Hitzfeld says he's "not bothered" by the team's performances, insisting his only focus is on the World Cup opener against Spain on June 16.

Switzerland play world champions Italy in Geneva on Saturday in their last warm-up match.
