Defending Olympic and world champions Beat Hefti and Thomas Lamparter finished first on Saturday with a two run combined time of one minute, 53.17 seconds.

They also clocked the single fastest time down the track, completing their second run in 56.44 seconds.

Their performance on the track at Winterberg follows a win last Saturday at Cesana Pariol, Italy.

The Swiss duo of Ivo Rüegg and Roman Handschin finished at 1:53.28, just 0.04 seconds back of Germany’s Karl Angerer and Gregor Bermbach, to take the bronze.

Rüegg and Handschin had finished second last week.

Daniel Schmid and Jürg Egger, also of Switzerland, tipped over at the finish line of their second heat run. They placed fourth.
