How relevant is the G20 today?

Does the world still need powerhouse clusters like the G20 or G8? What more should such blocs be doing to tackle global issues?

For the first time Switzerland is joining in the G20 meetings of finance ministers and central bank governors. What role can Switzerland play among these economic giants? Would it be more effective for Switzerland to operate as a neutral entity alongside such organisations so as to bring an objective view?
