A gay lobby group in Switzerland has called for homosexuality to be "demystified". The appeal was made at the first meeting of Pink Cross to be held in French-speaking Switzerland.

Discussions focused on the problem of homophobia, and general ingorance about homosexulaity, in the education sector. A Pink Cross spokesman, Stéphane Riethauser, said a campaign would be launched in October to raise awareness in the sector.

He said Pink Cross had also developed an education page within its website.

The 100 delegates at the meeting in Neuchatel also elected François Baur, from Zurich, as president of the organisation.
