First Eurovision finals for Swiss since 2006

Eurovision fans were in love for a while with Anna Rossinelli Keystone

Swiss singer Anna Rossinelli and her band have made it into the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The 23-year-old Rossinelli, backed by her boyfriend on bass and a guitarist, convinced televoters with her pop song “In Love for a While”.

The last Swiss entry to make it to the finals was the group six4one in 2006, which finished in 16th place.

The other countries to have their performers make it into Saturday’s finals are Serbia, Lithuania, Greece, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary, Finland, Russia and Iceland.

The other semifinal takes place on Thursday evening.
