Federer took a break after losing to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open in late January.

"I didn't really spend so much time thinking about the match with Novak," Federer told reporters in Dubai. "I came out of the Australian Open tournament feeling good, although obviously it's disappointing to lose.”

The Dubai tournament begins on Monday. Federer, now 29, last won the title there in 2007.

Federer’s upcoming match schedule will keep him busy until Wimbledon in June.

"I had the perfect vacation, spent a lot of time with my kids and Mirka," Federer said.

Federer is seeded first in the Dubai tournament that also includes defending champion Djokovic, Wimbledon runner-up Tomas Berdych and 2010 Dubai finalist Mikhail Youzhny.
