Federer last man standing
Switzerland's Roger Federer has breezed through to the third round of the Australian Open, beating France's Fabrice Santoro in straight sets.
All the other Swiss tennis players - Stanislas Wawrinka, as well as Timea Bacsinszky and Patty Schnyder in the women's tournament - are out of the tournament.
Federer who is bidding for a third successive Australian Open title, took just 80 minutes for his 6-1, 6-2, 6-0 win on Thursday over Santoro. The 35-year-old Frenchman has played in a record 62 grand slam singles tournaments.
The world number one will play Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia in the next round on Saturday.
Bacsinszky lost her match on Thursday against India's Sania Mirza 1-6, 6-4, 5-7.
On Wednesday, Schnyder went out against Australia's Casey Dellacqua and Wawrinka retired from a match with French player, Marc Gicquel, after sustaining a groin injury.
