Davos lose again

The Davos team suffered its second consecutive defeat Keystone

Top ice hockey team Davos suffered a humiliating 2-0 defeat at the hands of Langnau on Saturday.

Although Davos retain their pole position at the top of the league with 37 points, it is the second time in a row that the team have scored neither goals nor points.

The Davos team also lost two of its members, Jan von Arx and Joseph Marha, during the game owing to knee injuries.

Bern also continued their downward slide on Saturday, losing 4-3 to Kloten playing at home. Bern have lost four of the last six matches played this season.

Kloten and Bern are now level on 27 points, in sixth and seventh respectively.

In other ice hockey action, Rapperswil beat Lugano 5:4, despite a strong performance by Lugano defender, Patrick Sutter, who scored three goals.

Fribourg-Gottéron delighted their fans by beating Ambri-Piotta 5:4 at St. Leonard, playing to a crowd of over 5,600 people. Gil Montandon was the man of the day, scoring three goals for Fribourg.

Ambri-Piotta is now just one point ahead of Fribourg-Gottéron; the teams rank third and fourth respectively.

Lausanne slipped to ninth place in the league table after they were thrashed 1-4 by Chur.
