Davos maintained number one position in the rankings after a record 18th win at home, with bottom side Rapperswil now highly unlikely to make to the end-of-season play-offs.

Second-place team Lugano are also through to the play-offs, despite drawing 3-3 against Fribourg.

Bern's fears of being drawn into the relegation battle weren't eased any on Tuesday when the side from the Swiss capital went down 3-2 at home to Ambri.

In other ice hockey action, Langnau saw their playoff hopes virtually ended after a 1-0 overtime defeat to the Zurich Lions.

The league's bottom team, Chur, already headed for the relegation play-outs, suffered a further loss - beaten 3-2 by Kloten.
