Danses (CD Jecklin) swissmusic

With the dances and dance-like pieces gathered on this CD, Sabine Bärtschi and Priska Zaugg fill several gaps in the recording offer. Given the lack of a wider choice of original compositions intended for this very rare association of fundamentally different string instruments, the two musicians actually take advantage of the shortage. Along with the two original pieces by Christoph Schaffrat (1709-1763) and Marcel Tournier (1879-1951), their selection of arrangements offers not only pleasant listening, but at moments is an invitation to dance.
