The minister met his counterpart, Riad Naasan Agha, who expressed interest in opening early talks on accords concerning the return of cultural property.

Switzerland already has such treaties in place with several other countries, including Egypt, Peru, Greece and Italy.

The two ministers also welcomed collaboration on projects to develop two archaeological sites that institutions in Geneva and Basel use for studies.
