Cologna marks a successful weekend
Olympic champion Dario Cologna of Switzerland won the 10-kilometre cross-country classic event in Finland on Saturday to claim his first World Cup win of the season.
On Sunday he came in second in the 15-kilometre pursuit.
Cologna finished 6.7 seconds ahead of Alexander Legkov of Russia in challenging weather conditions on Saturday, which saw the temperatures in Kuusamo plunge to -20 degrees Celsius.
"This win means a lot to me. It shows me how much potential I have," Cologna said.
However, he could not hold off Legkov the next day in the 15 km race.
Earlier this year, the 24-year-old Cologna won the men's 15-km freestyle cross-country race in his Olympic debut in Vancouver.
This followed on from his 2008/2009 season success, in which Cologna became the first Swiss ever to win the overall cross-country ski World Cup.
