Cohn receives another Oscar nomination
The Oscar nominations announced in Los Angeles on Tuesday gave further recognition to the Swiss producer, Arthur Cohn. His film "One Day in September" has been put forward for the Best Documentary award.
The Oscar nominations announced in Los Angeles on Tuesday gave further recognition to the Swiss producer, Arthur Cohn. His film "One Day in September" has been put forward for the Best Documentary award.
The film, directed by Kevin McDonald, looks at one day during the 1972 Munich Olympics, where a number of Israeli athletes died following a kidnapping by Palestinian extremists.
The fim is the result of a collaboration between Cohn and the British producer, John Battsek. It faces stiff competition in its category from "Buena Vista Social Club" by Germany's Wim Wenders.
Cohn is no stranger to the Academy Awards, having been nominated on seven previous occasions. He has brought home an Oscar no fewer than five times.
"One Day in September", which is narrated by Hollywood superstar, Michael Douglas, was given its European premiere last week in Cohn's home city of Basel.
