Cancellara loses world time trial title

Swiss cyclist Fabien Cancellara lost his world title in the men’s time trial at the road cycling world championship in Copenhagen on Wednesday.

He came in third after Tony Martin of Germany and Bradley Wiggins of Britain.

Martin finished the 46.4 kilometre circuit in 53 minutes 42.85 seconds, one minute 15 seconds ahead of Wiggins. Cancellara covered the distance in 55 minutes 04.44.

Cancellara had been aiming for a fifth world title.
