British architect selected by Zurich museum

British architect David Chipperfield has won the competition to build the extension to Zurich's modern art museum, it was announced on Friday.

The project by David Chipperfield Architects won the support of a large majority of the jury, who selected it from 20 submissions.

All the projects will be on view to the public in the museum, the Kunsthaus, from December 16 to January 11.

The extension, costing SFr150 million ($128.5 million), is to be completed by 2015. It will be funded half and half from public and private sources.
