Blue Window surfs to new high

The country's largest Internet provider, Blue Window, continues to boom with its customer base surging this year from 323,000 to 500,000.

The company, which was hived off from Swisscom on May 1, is preparing for an Initial Public Offering, possibly in the second half of this year.

Swisscom has said that as an independent company, it will be easier for Blue Window to enter partnerships. There will be a new market launch in the next few months under the name "Bluewin".

Over the past year, Blue Window customers have spent a total of 30.3 million hours surfing the Net. With a staff of 230, Blue Window currently registers around 60 million page views a month.

Blue Window offers comprehensive information on various topics, including music, cinema, games and travel via its Internet portal. Its BlueMail service enables electronic post to be transmitted and received by Blue Window from any Internet access.
