In August 2001 a team of seven British mountaineers and Swiss guides recreated a 19th century alpine expedition, dressed in costumes of the day. The 10-day adventure included successful assaults on the Jungfrau and Mönch mountains, both at more than 4000 metres above sea level. There were a few slips along the way but the British triumphed yet again in their battle with the Alps. Naturally. (Julie Hunt/Martin Schilt)
